Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She is currently a fighter with the UFC Flyweight division. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports journey by becoming an Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimity. Antonina was awarded the Silver Medal in 2007, a Bronze Medal in 2008, a Golden medal in 2011, the IFMA 2016 Amateure Muay Tha World Champion. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. She has won several titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, as well as the WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. In 2018, she left the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko wrestled Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina utilized superior strikes and striking skills to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the final clinch. After this win, Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne modafferi in a split decision following her first bout. Antonina has recovered from her loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko won her first three fights before losing her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
